Heard about the famous Camel fair since long but didn't get an opportunity to attend it. Finally during last Diwali we decided to reach there.
Then what.. preparation started.. as diwali vacation was going on it was confirmed that we won't get train bookings.. It is little difficult to reach there by flight… but we were sure to attend this Camel fair this year anyhow.
So we planned it by road. I love road traveling specially, to Rajsthan.
Journey started early in the morning around 5.30 t0 5 45 am.. on 5th November 2019. ( it was 11 hours journey by road)
After taking 2 halts, finally we reached the destination at around 5.15 p.m. As soon as we entered the small town, we realized it was a right decision to visit the famous fair.
We checked in at Kanj Avtar resort, few kms away from the town, it was indeed a beautiful place surrounded by lush green farms and hills, Even after 11 long hours of road travel, within few minutes we left the resort and rushed towards the fair ground.
What a colorful experience it was. So many shopping and food options were available. Had a wonderful late night outing at the fair ground.
Day 2: Again left the resort after having breakfast. And reached the fairground… OMG… everywhere u can see only camels and camels…. Few more animals were there like.. Horses and Buffaloes.. but Camels are the main attraction. 🐪
During The Camel Fair, u can see a lots of foreign tourists in this small town, many more than the locals..
Camel owners came from different villages , and many of them came from villages that were few hundred kms away, with their Camels to get best deals in the fair.
We enjoyed few best Rajsthani delicacies there like Authentic Dal Bati & the best Malpua ever.. Malpua with Rabdi is a speciality of the Pushkar.
A visit to the city during the fair is worth for ever Happy traveling.. 😀
